Natasha Milijasevic: January 2012

Photography, like travel, offers the intensity of exploration. The lens leads the discovery of lyrical bits of time and places that have the power of childhood encounters. I have had the good fortune to have travelled extensively for both personal and professional reasons. Some of the photos here are from my travels. In recent years, my life has taken a sharp shift to the local, which has lead to a creative rediscovery of neighbourhood spaces and an engagement with community that has recharged my passion for urban and sustainability issues.

Working primarily with my Nikon camera and Tamron lenses, I shoot traditional analog film. While I enjoy rendering the intensity of colour in the world, I have recently been drawn to black and white.

Natasha Milijasevic lives in the Toronto neighbourhood of Seaton Village, with her husband and two children. She received her B.Sc. Hons. from Queen’s University, MBA from Rotman (University of Toronto), and her Ph.D from the University of Toronto.
